David Luiz Must be held responsible for the embarrassing Brazil defeat of World Cup

Brazil suffered their worst humiliation in their history together, proud football after losing 7-1 in Germany in the semifinal of the 2014 World Cup, Tuesday night.

Shorn of leadership and inspiring performance of key central defender Thiago Silva suspended, patron of Brazil Felipe Scolari told his partner, David Luiz, to take over the captain's armband.

After half an hour, the game ended, Luiz was already responsible for more than one goal and its performance all-out on what remained of the game has deteriorated to nothing less than a disgrace to his shirt, the fans who watched on and the manager who made him captain.

Defend, David

Towards the end of the season 2012-13, interim Chelsea Rafael Benitez boss used David Luiz in a roving but the deep midfield role, allowing the Brazilian to speak on the ball, attack when the opportunity arose and be safe in the knowledge that two and sometimes three, players sit deeper than him for loss of enjoyment or positional faults.

Last season, José Mourinho he used in the same role for his club, where in particular he excelled against Paris Saint-Germain - his new club in the Champions League.

For the Brazil against the Germany, Luiz seemed to think that he was still playing this role, looking to break forward with threat, picking up the ball in dangerous areas and opportunities for other fashion in the last third.

Luiz is a defender of the offensive of mind - that is very good. In fact, more than fine, it is wonderful, exciting and a very actual resource teams can exploit to their advantage. But the first task of the defense remains to stop the opposition to win the game, it does not win himself.

At what point do you have Luiz, the leader of the team, the captain on the night, insist his team clam upwards, Germany's space in the attack of hunger and simply prevents manhandle them become worse? Unforgivable lack of commitment

Luiz lost his marker on the first goal, a finish volleyed by Thomas Müller on a corner kick, but there was an element of good positional game by teammates of Müller, which has prevented the continued forward Luiz. Not very well defend by all means, but perhaps also not entirely his fault.

His mind was completely gone by this point of the game, but it is a 90 minute it revive devilishly over and over again for the rest of his career. 2014 was supposed to be the buyout for the Brazil for their defeat of 1950, and Luiz has the opportunity to lead the side through the final.

What the Brazil got him instead was a diabolical individual performance in an extremely awkward display of the team and the result of everyone involved in the side of each bit haunting as long the Maracanazo made.
