Usain Bolt is unable to put a firm date on his return to the 200m because of his troublesome Achilles tendon.
The Jamaican, world record holder over both distances, is competing in the Diamond League meeting, his first since straining his Achilles tendon in May.
When asked if he would run another 200m this season, Bolt said: "I have no idea, but I am praying on it."
He added: "The doctor said in four weeks I should be OK.
In the morning, the tendon is kind of stiff. But it goes away Usain Bolt |
Bolt clocked this year's fastest 200m time with 19.56 seconds in Kingston in May and also won the event at the Diamond League meeting in Shanghai in the same month.
But he developed a tightness in his left Achilles tendon following a 300m race in Ostrava soon after those feats, and has not run competitively since.
Talking about his training work on the bend, Bolt said: "I aggravated the injury and had to stop. In the morning [the tendon] is kind of stiff. But it goes away.
The 23-year-old said he faced a similar situation when he begins to warm up, but eventually the pain and stiffness goes.
He is now expected to compete five more times in the Diamond League this season, inclusive of the Lausanne event in Switzerland - the seventh of 14 stops on the Diamond League circuit.
British interest in Lausanne centres around Michael Rimmer in the 800m, Andy Turner in the 110m hurdles, Dai Green in the 400m hurdles and high jumper Samson Oni.
