Italy: Lippi has chosen.

Marcello Lippi has decided not to keep G. Rossi, Borriello, Cossu, Cassani and Sirigu the World Cup in South Africa. The Italian coach opted to keep Quagliarella (Naples) and Camoranesi (Juventus), despite a warning Tuesday at practice.

Giuseppe striker Rossi (Villarreal), midfielder Mattia Cassani (Palermo) and forward Marco Borriello (AC Milan) were excluded from the list of 23 players released Tuesday night by Italian Marcello Lippi. However, attackers Fabio Quagliarella (Naples) and Giampaolo Pazzini (Sampdoria) will make the trip to South Africa, as the mid veteran Mauro Camoranesi (Juventus). The other two players are goalkeeper recalibrated Salvatore Sirigu (Palermo) and midfielder Andrea Cossu (Cagliari).
Italy will therefore defend South Africa's champion of the world without having resolved its problem number 10, none of the attackers detained Tuesday by Marcello Lippi's list of 23 does of course winning the post. While Italy has historically aligned to Gianluca Vialli, Roberto Mancini, Roberto Baggio, Francesco Totti and Alessandro Del Piero another, the current selection is a shadow of offensive formations that made him famous.
Alberto Gilardino, Antonio Di Natale, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Fabio Quagliarella and Giampaolo Pazzini, selected by Lippi, and will be hard pressed to live up to their illustrious predecessors. If Di Natale completed a good season at Udinese with the title of top scorer (29 goals in 35 games), he played in a team that fought for its retention in Serie A. At 32, he is fast and may prove elusive, but the defenses to which it will face international will certainly be more difficult to overcome. As for Iaquinta, was injured much of the season and will not score much, so hard to expect him an avalanche of goals in the World.
