Formula 1 - Grand Prix of Europe : Alonso: "To finish on the podium ".

\"Finir sur le
podium\" - FORMULE 1 - Grand Prix d'Europe
After finishing in 3rd place in Canada, Alonso (Ferrari) hopes that the F10 will also be performing this weekend in Valencia back on the podium . The Spaniard is optimistic but keeps feet on ground . He expects the first free practice sessions to try .

This is your second home race . What does it mean to you ?
Fernando Alonso: It's always great to run home. I hope the show will be enjoyable for fans. With Barcelona and Valencia , we are fortunate to have the opportunity to run our public twice .

Do not you think that you could have won in Canada? What is your feeling about this race ? You have not been very lucky .
FA : I think it will be interesting to see how the race takes place in Valencia . We have had our ups and downs during the last two races. I hope we can be at the same level as McLaren and Red Bull. In Turkey, we were not fast enough . We just try to have the same level as Canada to finish on the podium .

Your car will present developments at the rear diffuser . What does that make you ?
FA : We have more or less improved our car at every race . To see a real step forward , it depends on the level of development of others. We are optimistic and satisfied with the work done these last two weeks. We arrive in Valencia with package but get carried away . The other teams have not watched TV in the past two weeks and each will bring changes . I hope that ours are better.

You tested the car with the developments at Fiorano . What is your feeling ?
F.A. : I had a very good feeling . I was driving 60 km / h behind a car with cameras. I also shot without a car ahead of me but I had a dozen cameras on the car and on my helmet. It was not very pleasant to drive . It was also the first that I was driving in F1 at Fiorano , so I do not have many answers. We will have more on Friday. We hope to make a step forward and be a little faster. We must continue to improve the car at Silverstone, Hockenheim , Budapest ... One does not change this year and that's all . It is work that must continue to Abu Dhabi. There is still a long way to go.

Do you agree with the fans who see the end of gasoline supplies made the races more intense ?
F.A. : It depends on the Grand Prix . In Canada , with the tire problems , without refueling was a good thing . But in Turkey , you could turn off your TV . We started , we shod tires hard as soon as possible and the race was over because there has never been another arrest.
There 's not much change in qualifying also. Before , you could be a little less efficient and decide to adopt a more aggressive strategy . By embedding five or six laps less fuel in qualifying, you could lift the front line. Today , whatever your position on the grid , you get roughly the same place at the finish. There has advantages and disadvantages. I hope that viewers take more pleasure in watching the races but for us it is sometimes better, sometimes worse .

What do you think of the rule of 107% which will return next year ?
FA: I do not think next year we will see the differences we have seen this year . The three teams arrived late in 2011 but this season they will be better prepared and there will be less of a difference .
