
Harry Kewell joined to 14 players in the provisional list announced by Pim Verbeek, coach of Australian Football on Tuesday in preparation for the World Cup to be held next month in South Africa, all of whom participated in the last World Cup in Germany four years ago.
Will be short-listed for the Australians, which includes 30 players to 23 only at the beginning of June next, based on the performance of the players, when the team would meet with his New Zealand counterpart in a friendly in Melbourne on 24 May this before leaving for a few days later to South Africa to meet the Denmark in a friendly match the other.
Presented Kewell with a groin injury playing for Galatasaray last week, in his first game with his Turkish since December last, and is doubtful about the possibility of recovery wing of the former Liverpool in time for the match against the first group game against Germany in the 13 June next.
Verbeek told reporters: "Of course there are rumors and there are views, however, Harry will be ready, the medical staff and all and Harry himself has assured me that it would be very well, we still have five weeks before the first match, against Germany."
The list included Australians southpaw Tommy Orr / 18 years / player Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Jason Culina is the only player in the Australian squad which plays in the local league.
