Camilo Villegas won the Open Palm Beach.
Two years after his last title, Camilo Villegas won the PGA third trophy of his career Sunday in Palm Beach. The Colombian has emerged with a comfortable lead over the competition.
Villegas most regular:
Camilo Villegas ended Sunday at two years of famine. Since 2008, the year that saw him explode at the highest level with two wins at the BMW Championship and Tour Championship and a 4e place at the USPGA, the young Colombian (28 years) had not experienced the joys of success on the PGA circuit. This has now changed after his recital on the greens of Palm Beach. On regularity of a metronome (66 Thursday 66 Friday 67 Saturday and 68 Sunday), "Spiderman", his nickname due to his very own way of studying the green before a putt, dominated his opponents head and shoulders. After taking the top of the table Saturday night, he drove the nail on Sunday to win with a comfortable margin (five strokes ahead) on the dolphin, Anthony Kim, and six on the Englishman Justin Rose author of a fantastic recovery with a 64 Sunday (the best score of the day).
The praise of patience:
Villegas will tremble, if I may say, only one time Sunday. When Kim returned a birdie on hole number 5 to return to only two shots in the head. The Colombian response was immediate with three birdies in rank from No. 8 hole to take his ease (six strokes ahead). "I felt good all week"Villegas explained just after its success, the third of his career on the PGA Tour. "A tournament is played over four rounds. I played well three of them and I got lucky on the fourth. It was not as easy as you might think. I played very well the first nine holes and then I made some mistakes but I managed to stay patient, Welcomed it.
